New Student Welcome Event - In honor of being a new Mariner, your Student Orienation Staff (SOS) would like to welcome you to Marymount the Mariner way! Join us for In'N'Out burgers and some end of the summer fun!

Financial Literacy - Finances in general can be difficult but managing them in college can be even more challenging. Join Kat, our Director of Financial Aid, to learn about the typical struggles of college students, including credit card debt, student loans, budgeting and more!

Lunch - Join us for lunch in our Cafe before you head into your first round of Orientation sessions.

Orientation Headquarters - This will be your one stop shop for all Orientation matters. Even if you don't have any questions, come say hello! We love visitors! 

8:30-9:40am  /  The Commons 

Disability Resources & MAST Orientation - session for students who may be in need of accommodations or learning resources available from our Learning Center. This session is not required of all new students, but suggested for students who may be in need of learning resources.  It is recommended for students who will be using disability and MAST services from the Learning Center in the fall semester!

8:00am-2:00pm / Chapel Circle

Orientation Headquarters - This is where you will check-in for the day and pick-up your Orientation materials (i.e., Student ID card). Check-in is required for all new students. This is not an event - just the place to check in and ask questions!  Your start time varies depending on which session you begin with below (either Disability Resources/MAST Orientation OR the Orientation Kick-Off.

6:00-9:30pm Oceanview campus in Rancho Palos Verdes

ITHE Real World: Marymount - Join your SOSers for a collegiate night dedicated to talking about the college experience. This night is MANDATORY! Plus, you wouldn't want to miss being inaugrated as an official Mariner!

Late Night Shopping Spree - Worried you'll forget something for your new room in your Marymount residence? We've got you covered! Bed, Bath & Beyond has arranged for a Mariner shopping night in their store, which will be equipped with music and snacks.

Marymount Academics - Do you want to learn more about your major or emphasis? How about meeting some of the faculty who you will be taking classes with? Even more, want to meet like-minded students? Then you'll definitely want to check out one of the sessions listed below:

  • Psychology

  • Exploratory - Many new students don't know what they want to major in yet, and that is completely fine. Drop in this session to learn about what it means to be an "exploratory" student.

TRANSFER STUDENT ORIENTATION

Welcome to Marymount California University (MCU)! We are excited you have chosen to attend Marymount. As a transfer student, you have probably already participated in some kind of college Orientation program. Even still, it is important for you to attend Marymount's Orientation because we are different from your previous institution and have programs, services and policies that are unique to our universitiy.

 

Additionally, we have tailored an Orientation schedule based on transfer students' needs and desires. Take advantage of this time to meet your faculty members, staff and other transfer students. We are dedicated to setting you up for success, and want you to have a great experience at Marymount.
